    LBTC SPONSORING TRADE MISSIONS TO MEXICO

    January 17, 2012

    BATON ROUGE – The LSU Louisiana Business & Technology Center, an integral part of the E. J. Ourso College of Business, along with Louisiana Economic Development, the U.S. Small Business Administration and the Committee of 100 for Economic Development will sponsor two Louisiana Trade Missions to Mexico.

    The first mission, titled FABTECH/ AWS Weldmex/ METALFORM Mexico, will take place May 2-4, 2012, in Mexico City. The second mission, the Petroleum Exhibition and Conference of Mexico, will take place June 12-14, 2012, in Villahermosa.

    During both trade missions, small and medium sized businesses will be offered translation services, discounted booth space and will be eligible for reimbursement of the following trade mission/trade show expenses:

    • U.S. Commercial Service Gold Key Matchmaking Services
    • Website Translation
    • Translation and Design of International Marketing Media
    • Participation in Training Workshops

    According to LBTC, the trade mission to Mexico City will feature a variety of technologies, including:

    • Coil Processing
    • Robotics
    • Safety Equipment
    • Tooling
    • Industrial Gases
    • Laser and Plasma Cutting
    • Saws and Cut-Off Machines
    • Metalworking Equipment
    • Welding Consumables/Equipment
    • Soldering

    Industries that will be represented during the trade mission are:

    • Aerospace
    • Agriculture
    • Appliance
    • Architecture
    • Automotive
    • Defense
    • Heavy Equipment
    • Railroad
    • Shipbuilding
    • Commercial/Industrial Equipment
