BATON ROUGE – The Greater Baton Rouge Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management has named Heather Gaines and Sonda Brown as its fall scholarship recipients. The award is scheduled to be presented at the Greater Baton Rouge SHRM Holiday Social in December.
The scholarship is awarded each fall and spring semester to a human resource management student graduating with the highest grade point average. Selected students must be graduates of a Louisiana high school. Although the scholarship is normally awarded to only one recipient, the chapter decided to recognize both Gaines and Brown for achieving the highest grade point averages, with only a small difference between them.
Gaines, a native of Clinton, La., and Brown, a native of Baton Rouge, will both graduate in December.
The Society for Human Resource Management is the world’s largest association devoted to human resource management.
