FORT WORTH, Texas – A team from LSU’s chapter of the Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization was recognized at the CEO Annual National Conference held October 27-29, 2011, for receiving 2nd place in the CEO Startup Simulation Challenge Competition in April.
Thousands of entrepreneurial students from around the country, along with highly successful business individuals attended the conference. Among those professionals were the founders of Redbox and Chuck E. Cheese.
The 2nd place team was one of two LSU teams that participated in the competition in April, the other team placing in the top 10. Representing LSU were current and former Stephenson Entrepreneurship Institute Fellows George Farhat, Harrison Lloyd, Harry Masson, Rip Rittell and Victoria Simoneaux.
The Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization hosted the competition, which took place over a two-month period. Each team was given the task of creating a startup computer development company and was asked to customize a new line of microcomputers for virtual customers in Asia, Europe and North America.

The Entrepreneurship Fellows Program is a year-long work/study program designed to encourage business and entrepreneurial practices in a select group of undergraduate students. The program provides students with the opportunity to network with and be mentored by top executives thereby giving these students an extra edge upon graduation.
