ABOUT US

ACCESS LSU is the Louisiana Business & Technology Center’s formalization of a service it has provided for years – serving as the initial point of contact for those in the business and industrial community who have a need for the expertise and resources of LSU’s faculty and staff. This program makes the University’s vast knowledge readily available to Louisiana businesses and fosters private sector funding for LSU research projects.

HOW CAN ACCESS LSU HELP?

Whether you are an inventor with a great idea but no resources to get started, have developed innovating technology and don’t know how to market it, or have an issue with your business that could likely be solved by an LSU expert, ACCESS LSU can help.

There is no limit to the diversity of aid ACCESS LSU can provide as it aims to help facilitate the University’s economic development mission. Below is just one example.

With the assistance of the LBTC, the Belle of Baton Rouge Atrium was put into contact with an LSU entomologist to identify the species of beetle that was eating the caulking surrounding the atrium’s glass panels and causing leaks and other damage. Within hours the species was identified as Sugarcane Beetles and a different type of caulking was recommended and ultimately installed to repel the beetles.

Through ACCESS LSU, LBTC has also assisted entrepreneurs with solutions to engineering and manufacturing issues. If you require assistance and think someone at LSU has the answer, contact a member of LBTC’s staff today.
