WHAT IS MANAGEMENT?
Management is the process of getting activities completed efficiently and effectively with and through other people. Planning, organizing, staffing, directing, coordinating, reporting, and budgeting are all key factors and aspects of the overall function of an organization's management.
LSU'S RUCKS DEPARTMENT OF MANAGEMENT IN THE E. J. OURSO COLLEGE OF BUSINESS
Encompasses a breadth of teaching and research in areas such as organizational behavior, human resources, strategy, entrepreneurship, industrial/labor relations, and international management for undergraduates, graduate students, and executives.
- Offers a bachelor's degree that builds upon the foundation of the college's core business curriculum.
- Allows students to pursue concentrations in entrepreneurship, human resource management or general management.
The LSU Honors College provides the opportunity for exceptional students to earn the upper-division honors distinction along with the bachelor's in management. Additionally, students can participate in various organizations and activities including:
- Sigma Iota Epsilon - This honorary and professional management fraternity's general purposes are to encourage and recognize scholastic excellence and to promote cooperation between the academic and applied areas of management.
- SHRM - The Society of Human Resource Management, or SHRM for short, is the world's largest association devoted to human resource management.
