  • INTERNSHIP INFORMATION FOR EMPLOYERS

What if I am an employer and want an intern?
Individual academic units (departments, centers, institutes, etc.) often can assist in identifying potential interns.

LSU Career Services can also help you in your search for interns by offering the following services to your organization:

    Whom should I contact?
Employers may contact an internship coordinator in the E. J. Ourso College for assistance.

Employers may contact LSU Career Services when they are in the process of searching for students to fill internship positions by contacting Career Services at career@lsu.edu or 225-578-2162, or online at http://careercenter.lsu.edu/ .

How are internships in general marketed to students?
LSU Career Services markets internships to students through its online system, Careers2Geaux, and recruiting events held in the fall and spring semesters. To see a list of recruiting events, please visit http://careercenter.lsu.edu/events .

Employers may also conduct evening presentations or meet with faculty members and student organizations to discuss internship opportunities. Employers can advertise their internship openings in The Reveille and Tiger Weekly , local publications covering LSU news and events.

Internship coordinators in the E. J. Ourso College can notify students of internship opportunities.

Student organizations invite speakers to their meetings who are recruiters/employers interested in hiring interns.

How are students notified about a company’s opening?
Students are notified about on-campus recruitment programs through weekly liaison e-mails sent to every student in the E. J. Ourso College, bulletin board postings, and by their professors and advisors. Most students also check Careers2Geaux continuously for internship opportunities.

How can I post an internship?
Some academic units and student organizations will announce or post internship positions that they receive.

LSU Career Services has an online system, Careers2Geaux, for employers to post internship positions. This system is password-protected and available to LSU students, faculty, staff, and registered alumni 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Additionally, résumés of students who meet your qualifications can be referred to you.
