The Louisiana Business & Technology Center at LSU’s E. J.
Ourso College of Business and the Louisiana Small Business Development
Center will partner with the Baton Rouge Area Chamber of Commerce to
host the annual “Business Boot Camp II: Advanced Training” seminar
Saturday, July 14, 2007, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in room 1109 of
the CEBA Building on LSU’s main campus.
“Business Boot Camp II: Advanced Training” is geared toward
anyone considering starting a high-growth company, entrepreneurs with
an early-stage high-growth company, parties seeking equity financing
for high-growth companies, and companies planning to participate in the
2007 Louisiana Purchase Venture Capital Forum. Participants will learn
how to conduct effective market research and competitive analysis, perform
financial modeling and forecasting for ventures, analyze venture business
valuation, how to pitch a venture concept, and gain valuable insight
from those that have raised equity rounds.
The event will feature multiple sessions with LBTC personnel and
well-known local business professionals moderating the discussions.
“We have invited professionals that we know have a certain understanding
of these topics as well as the understanding of how the fundraising process
works,” said Charles D’Agostino, executive director of the
LBTC. “This event will offer insight into what to look for and
uncovers the issues that may not be readily apparent to people who want
to start or expand high-growth businesses.”
The cost of the seminar is $50 for the general public and $35 for students
and faculty with a valid ID. Pre-registration is required and payment
prior to the event is preferred. To register for the event, visit www.lsbdc.org/events.aspx.
