David J. Bondy Jr., a founder and chief executive officer of LUBA Workers' Comp, has been named a member of the Dean’s Advisory Council of LSU’s E. J. Ourso College of Business.
A 1973 graduate of LSU, Bondy was involved in the passage of legislation that reformed Louisiana's workers' compensation system and pioneered the creation of group self-insured funds. He has been instrumental in establishing and servicing self-insurance plans in the southeastern United States and is a founding member and former president of the Louisiana Association of Self-Insured Employers.
LUBA Workers’ Comp was founded in 1991 to provide a practical means for Louisiana employers to satisfy their legal obligations of coverage for employees and to support compliance with the Louisiana Workers’ Compensation Act. The company, originally a workers’ compensation group self-insurance fund, was established by the Louisiana United Businesses Association, a Louisiana nonprofit corporation representing the interests of businesses in Louisiana. In 1991, LUBA Workers’ Comp began providing workers’ compensation and employers’ liability coverage to Louisiana employers.
DAC exists to promote and improve the E. J. Ourso College. The accomplished professionals who form its membership donate their time, talents, and resources to support the Dean in his efforts to enhance the substance and image of the E. J. Ourso College.
