Kirsten Edwards, coordinator of the E. J. Ourso College of Business Minority Business Program, would like to interest you in an exciting prospect for the upcoming summer.
The National Hispana Leadership Institute will sponsor a week-long leadership convention entitled Latinas Learning to Lead. To be held in Washington, D.C., this conference will aim to endow young Hispanic females with the managerial and practical skills necessary to succeed in their respective careers. Activities and lectures will center on career planning, personal health, entrepreneurial skills, and technological acclimation. Seminar topics will range from conflict resolution and public speaking to résumé development and cross-cultural dynamics, and prominent Latina figures from a variety of fields will be available for contact and discussion.
Latinas Learning to Lead will take place from July 20 to July 26, 2008 and requires that participants be between the ages of 17 and 22, possess a GPA of at least 2.5, and have completed a minimum of 30 semester hours by May of 2008. If you are interested and would like to learn more about this opportunity, visit www.nhli.org or call 703-527-6007.
